Black screen / shaders
The creator recommends pressing R to reload shaders when the screen turns black. This is a shader-related first step, not a fix for every display or startup fault.

Include the modpack release, Minecraft version, loader, whether you are playing alone or on a server, the exact error text, and any changes you made before the issue started. On a server, include both the server and client pack versions. A short description of what happened is more useful than simply “it crashes.”
